Beaches of Goa are much ahead of other beaches in India in terms of popularity and the facilities that are available here. The beaches here have been accepted as a matter of life, there are exotic cuisine backing the pleasure of have on sun and sand, and water sports facilities that include from water scooters to water gliding. Agonda Beach
Goa Agonda beach is a long and lonely, fringed with palms and casuarinas and dominated by a large hill to the south. If a person is looking for for some quiet moments, Goa Agonda beach is the place to be. Agonda is a three-kilometer long beautiful cove of white sand, safely secluded in the palms. There are no tourists, no souvenir stalls, no restaurants, nothing. Just the trees, the beach, the big beautiful ocean and you. It also makes for a great day trip from Colva and Covelossim. For real adventure, hire a tent and camp for the night, listening to the crashing of the sea waves It is really difficult to reach Agonda Beach because it falls a bit away from the main road and no local buses ply here. It also gives an element of solitude at the beach, as you won't find many tourists here. The best way to reach this beach is by a scooter or motors bike.

Aguada Beach
Goa Aguada beach is situated in the north of Goa. Aguada beach in the Indian state of Goa is quite a frequented beach. Tourists flock towards Goa Aguada beach to catch the magnificent view that Fort Aguada offers of the sea and the beach. Apart from the fort, once you are at Aguada beach, there are several interesting churches that are worth a visit. The Fort of Aguada was built by the Portuguese to control the entry into River Mandovi and to protect old Goa from enemy attack. The fortification skirts the seashore. At the center is a circular lighthouse tower. The Fort presently houses the central jail.

Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach is popularly known as the freak capital of the world and not without reasons. It claimed popularity for its Trance Parties and the Hippies who tried to synthesize the spiritual traditions of the East and the art, ideas and the music of the West. Sometime in the late 1950s to mid-1960s, the area was "discovered" by a group of travelers, including "Eight Finger Eddie," and a small international psychedelic scene began to meet there to party during the dry season. Anjuna is just the right place for lazing holidaymakers. Besides the calm waters of the Arabian Sea lapping softly on the Indian shore, Anjuna comes live with its ever-famous full-moon parties and the Wednesday flea market to take one on to a trance trip.

The main attractions of Anjuna Beach are the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion built in 1920 (flanked by octagonal towers and an attractive Mangalore tile-roof), the Mascarenhas Mansion, and the Chapora Fort. There are frequent local buses to Panaji, which is just 18 km away. One can also hire a motorcycle or a taxi from Mapusa to reach Anjuna.

Arambol Beach
A large and sprung out village near the seashore, Arambol can be approached by a road which winds across the plateau and down through the cashew trees. The beach is an uninterrupted and stunning stretch of curving sand, still unspoilt in comparison to other beaches. The beach is quiet except on Sundays, when a large crowd of local picnickers gather here for holidaying.

You can take one of the many buses that regularly ply between Arambol and Mapusa and Arambol and Chopdem. It takes around 40 minutes to reach Arambol from Chopdem for a distance of 12 km. On market days you can take boats to Anjuna. To move locally, hire taxis or bikes that are easily available.

 
Baga Beach
Baga is a small but perfect beach located between its two more famous cousins, Colva on one side and Calangute on the other. It is a far better place to enjoy some restful moments if you don't like the hustle and bustle of Colva or Calangute. It is a fishing beach with international touriststs marinating in the sun and domestic visitors paddling. The fact is that the sand here isn't either white or gold but brown. There is the grove of palms that comes fairly close to the water's edge. The Baga River flows down one side of it offering a pleasant diversion for children and those who love the water but can't risk the rip currents that swirl round the mouth. Where the river and the sea meet, and on the far right bank, there is a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes in dramatic explosions of spray.

Goa Baga beach is about ten minutes from Mapusa, and thirty minutes from the state capital, Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Baga and Calangute. Most buses from Panaji terminate at Calangute and a few trudge further on up to Baga. Mapusa is around 8 km away from Baga.

Benaulim Beach
Goa Benaulim beach is situated in south Goa on the shores of the Arabian Sea. It lies 41 km away from Panaji, capital of the Indian state of Goa. Benaulim beach is 2km from Colva beach. So once you visit Colva beach in Goa, then the next stop is bound to be Benaulim beach. Goa Benaulim beach is a very quiet beach. Benaulim beach in Goa starts where Colva beach ends. The best thing about Goa Benaulim beach is that it is still rather undiscovered by domestic tourists even though it is a famous beach for fishing. At Goa Benaulim beach, one can just laze the day off soaking in the sun. Benaulim beach at Goa gives you the pleasure and satisfaction of being in Goa. Bogmalo Beach
Goa Bogmalo beach sports a mixture of serenity and commercialism, splashed with simple beauty where one can happily lose oneself. Initially Bogmalo beach in Goa was a fishing village until tourists started pouring in and tourism stated catching up in this small Indian state of Goa. From the Dabolim airport, Goa's Bogmalo beach is only an 18 km drive. You can reach Bogmalo by bus or taxi from Vasco da Gama which is 8km from Bogmalo. Goa Bogmalo beach is also situated very close to the airport, the beach is about 18 km from Dabolim Airport and is well-connected by buses, motorcycle taxis, and taxis.

Calangute Beach
Goa Calangute beach is situated on the shores of the Arabian Sea in the North of India's Goa. It is encircled by Arpora-Nagoa, Saligao and Candolim, in the Bardez taluka, and is just 15 km from Panajim, the capital of the state of Goa. Most buses from Panaji terminate at Calangute and a few trudge further on up to Baga. Mapusa is 8 km away from Calangute.

Varca Beach and Cavelossim Beach
Goa Varca beach and Goa Cavelossim beach are filled with soft white sands and doted with black lava rocks at certain places. These beaches being much cleaner and quieter than most of the famous beaches of Goa manage to attract many tourists. There are numerous beach shacks offering a variety of Goan dishes and seafood at reasonable prices. There are several food joints around Dona Sylvia where you can get entire package of good food, good drink, nice service, and a pleasant service at quite reasonable rates. The main attraction at Goa Varca beach and Goa Cavelossim beach is the facility available for dolphin watching. There are boat trips arranged for this special event.

Goa Varca beach is situated 5km south of Benaulim while Cavelossim beach is around 12 km from Benaulim. You can avail the buses or taxis services to reach the Cavelossim and Varca beaches. Or else, you can hire motorbike to travel to these beaches.

Colva Beach
The frilly movements of the sea appear as if the sea is lazily enjoying the tickling sensations spread by the waves riding over it. This is how you can describe the sea at Colva beach. You go to Colva beach just to laze, laze and laze. Just gather your collection of interesting books and head for Goa's Colva beach. You can enjoy the day reading the book with just the whispers of the sea to disturb you. Colva beach in Goa is one beach which is usually less crowded. There are many shacks lined up along the Colva beach which offers you delicious Goan cuisine to be washed down by innovative cock-tails. Sit in one of those shack, savour the mouth-watering food while looking at the vast sea in front of you.

Colva beach is situated approximately 40 kms from Panaji, the capital of Goa. Colva beach is also at a distance of 2km from the Benaulim beach where tourists often go to have some quiet moments.

Dona Paula Beach
Goa Dona Paula beach, associated with a romantic myth, is one of the hottest tourist spot in Goa. People throng the Dona Paula beach not only to enjoy the sun and the sea but also to indulge in water sports on the clear waters. The beauty of Goa Dona Paula beach has been enhanced by a spooky past which has the tourists thronging to this place. History goes that the beach is named after Dona Paula de Menzes, daughter of a viceroy (in colonial India), who threw herself off the cliff, when refused permission to marry a local fisherman, Gaspar Dias. The myth says that Dona Paula is entombed in the Cabo Chapel of the Raj Bhawan and is supposed to be seen emerging from the moonlit waves wearing only a pearl necklace. This story attracts many tourists and they come here just to feel the sweet pain of love.

Dona Paula Beach in Goa is nestled on the southern side of the rocky hammer-shaped headlands that divide the Zuari and Mandovi estuaries. Bus, taxi, auto-rickshaw, and motorcycle services are also the available means of local conveyance in the area.

Mabor Beach

The soft white sands, the black lava rocks, beaches south of Benaulim. The beach are much cleaner and quieter than most of the famous beaches of Goa. There are numerous beach shacks offering a variety of Goan dishes and seafood at reasonable prices. There are several food joints around Dona Sylvia where you can get entire package of good food, good drink, nice service, and a pleasant service in quite reasonable rates. There are facilities for Dolphin watching at Betty's Place as well as boat trips for Dolphin watching up river Sal.

There are plenty of transportation facilities available to reach the beach from Margao. From Cavelossim village, Margao is 18 km away and buses and autos are available easily. You can also hire taxis from Dabolim Airport (41 – 48 km) to reach the beach resorts here. To move locally, use cycles and scooters that are available on hire.


Majorda Beach
From Bogmalo down south, there is Majorda beach and the Majorda Beach Resort. Majorda is the village where the Jesuits, fond as they were of the good things of life, discovered the best Goan toddy (sap from the coconut palm), which they used to leaven the bread. Naturally, then, Majorda is the place where the Goans were first trained in the delicate art of baking European breads. The Majordans are still Goa's best bakers. The delights of the beach, however, were discovered much earlier, in the mythic times when the gods above went through a lot of turmoil. There is a Goan version of Ramayana and therein Lord Rama was kidnapped as a child and brought up at Majorda. Later, in pursuit of Sita, he camped at Cabo de Rama-a headland further south-where the stretch of developed beaches ends.

Majorda is located at a distance of 18 km from Dabolim Airport and connected to Margao with buses, motorcycle taxis, and taxis.

Miramar Beach
The Miramar Beach, one of the beaches of Goa, is on the way to Dona Paula, 1-km ahead of the confluence of the Arabian Sea and Mandovi River. Under the palm shade, Miramar Beach is just 3-km away from the capital city of Panjim in the North Goa . This Goa beach is popularly known as "Gasper Dias".

The word 'Miramar' in Portuguese stands for viewing the sea. On account of its good location, the Miramar Beach of Goa is ideal for evening walks. The coast covers an expanse of 2-km, having a fine silvery sand bed.

Palolem Beach
Palolem beach in Goa is situated 2km west of Chaudi. Goa Palolem beach is one of the most ideal beaches in this Indian state of Goa. It has a crescent shaped bay lined with swaying coconut palms hemmed by a pair of rocky crags. The village located nearby has several cafes and souvenir stalls catering to day-trippers and vacationers who arrive in droves on sightseeing tours of the beaches. Despite the commercialisation, Palolem remains a traditional village, where the easy pace of life is dictated by the three daily rounds of todi-tapping.One of the most popular beaches in India's Goa, Palolem is a beach of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands.

Vagator Beach
The Goa Vagator beach boasts of pure white sand, doted with black rocks and swaying coconut and palm trees. Goa Vagator beach is also made special by the fishermen community residing along its shores. So while you are in Goa's Vagator beach, you will come across the fishermen in their traditional attire getting ready to venture into the sea or coming back with their day's catch.

Vagator is 22 km from Panaji, the capital of the Indian state of Goa. It lies on the northern edge of Bardez taluka. Vagator beach is also situated close to the Anjuna beach. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Vagator.
